Chondrogen

Chondrogen is currently being evaluated in a clinical trial for regeneration of the meniscus in the knee, and prevention of osteoarthritis. The meniscus is a crescent shaped cushion in the knee that helps provide stability to the joint. Injury and tears to the meniscus are common, arising from trauma or age.

Chondrogen has been demonstrated in animal models to protect the joint from damage following injury to the meniscus. Our research demonstrates that injection of adult stem cells promotes regeneration of the meniscus and protects the articular cartilage from degeneration leading to osteoarthritis.

Chondrogen Clinical Status

Osiris Therapeutics has completed enrollment of a Phase I/II clinical trial for Chondrogen.
